A Recipe For Sea Glass

“A Recipe For Sea Glass” was the winner of the 2023 Beachcombing Poetry Contest. This poem by Charlie Tapper follows the journey that a fragment of abandoned glass might take on its way to becoming sea glass. Charlie’s daughter, Lucy Tapper, has illustrated her father’s poem for a book released in November 2023.

Her beautiful illustrations take us on a trip as a piece of sea glass is shaped and smoothed in the vast soup of the ocean, where wonderful and weird things may have occurred.
