Mermaid Tears Sea Glass Festival
Head to beautiful Prince Edward Island, Canada, the last weekend of July to attend the Mermaid Tears Sea Glass Festival. Featuring 30+ vendors and 5,000 attendees from around, this annual celebration of sea glass is home to sea glass artisans and crafts, sea glass bingo, live entertainment, contests, and tons of other fun activities for families. Expert lectures and the history of sea glass exhibit in the lighthouse will teach even veteran something new about “mermaid tears.”
The heart of downtown Souris is walking distance away and is home to delicious local cuisine, fun shops, and the famous ferry that connects the island to the Iles de la Madeleine. Don’t pass up a chance to beachcomb on Souris Beach, take a lighthouse tour, dig for clams, and get to know some of the 1,300 friendly folks who live in this quaint seaport on the northeast coast of the island.
