I enjoy the serenity and the sense of peace that I get from walking along the shore and listening to the waves while I look for treasures
“Oceans roar, the tides rise, the sea sings. Who am I, but a pebble on the shore. Who am I to ask, who I am? Isn’t it enough to be?” I’ve been shelling since grade school- “Shells” – my epic science project. I’ve never been on a beach without looking down! The last 10 years includes beach glass; collecting and making gifts for family and friends – we even hosted a jewelry-making gathering! Finally making my way to Aruba in May! Whatever we find is gratifying, as “being” in this lifetime “search” has been priceless 🏖️
I have been sea glassing for at least 25 years now. I love the serenity it gives me and all the treasures that the ocean places in my vision. I collect many things besides the sea glass, i.e. pottery, shells, things tossed away many years ago, etc. I usually go with a friend and cherish the companionship. The ocean soothes my soul!
The joy of sand between my toes, the sound of water kissing the shore, pure tranquility. The excitement of finding beautiful beach glass to add to my collection, shells and stones carried to secret places and smoothed by time and water….A day on the shore is always a best day in life
I love the slow pace of hunting for a treasure. I find some new treasure, whether I keep it or not, every time. It keeps my mind off everything else and I’m always glad I went for a stroll.
Being at my favorite seaglass beach with my bestie is my Happy Place!! Special treasures are always just waiting for me!!
I have met and made the cutest new friends in Aruba… There’s Crusty (big red crab), Petey w/yellow hair (pelican), Chicky Baby (mama hen w/ babies), Icarus (pet Iguana) and two best friends Kilo and Luna (my brothers dogs).
The other thing that really ignites my soul and spirit are the natural treasures I cross paths with. Hag stones, sea glass, fossils, sea sponge, spawning baby turtles and Hearts… Lots and lots of washed ashore rocks and sea coral. My heart belongs to the sea, where I can always be free!
I fell hard for shelling when we moved to Florida 10 years ago. They are my little blessings in a bucket!
Just being at the beach makes me happy ,but finding shells or ,on rare occasions, sea glass is a big win!
